little things
My baby-daddy hit the road again the other day which meant in the hours leading up to his departure I had to find something to do BY MYSELF or i’d go nuts. So I went to Value Village. Of course.
Found: Silver candleabra friend for the trophy and beautiful faceted milk glass vase:
and another milk vase planter:
In the kitchen, I hung a poster that we bought in Prague (that makes me...
Things other people should buy:
I don’t really like this sofa, but I think someone could make it work. The shape is great, in any case.
Vintage Leopard Sofa - $120
This is pricey because it’s from Upside Dive, but it’s awesome anyway.
Caramel Tufted Chair (and ottoman) - $275
This has been for sale for ever because it’s $$ but I’m still surprised no one has snatched it up since...
bah humbug
Does anyone else get all blogged out? Like, how many rooms or vignettes can I look at in one day. Nothing is new! Everything the same! Maybe not. But you get the idea. So I saw this, and in the spirit of this post I say: it’s stupid. You know…in my opinion.

It is, as Micah puts it, “peeeeerrfect”. That doesn’t translate well. Go to her store and get her to say it....
kilim fix
No new content for over a week and the first new post is another shot of the dining room. AWESOME! Anyway, I bought a kilim off craigslist and to answer my own question from the post below: no, maybe you don’t always need a rug in the dining room, but mine looks a tonne better with one. yes?
So what's the deal with...
..rugs in the dining room? Yes, no? I can’t decide. I guess it’s not a universal rule, right? I moved the stripy rug into the living room and layered it with the hide because the hide was getting ruined by that other monstrosity and that other monstrosity was also impossible to vacuum. I like it, but does it make the dining room look too barren now? I mean, I know we have no light or...
Let there be...
Probably the greatest thing about this house is the light. It is intense. This is this morning in the living room:
Now, you may ask yourself, “what kind of lunatic decorates before everything is painted?” The answer is this lunatic (surprise!). It is SO HARD to paint all this trim.
And since the light was so nice, I took some pictures of the dining room - also not finished being...
