So I wake up this morning
and someone has commented on my blog (hi!) that they found me via Desire to Inspire. OBVIOUSLY I didn’t believe them. i mean, OBVIOUSLY. and yet….and yet…there I am…my logoless mess of a header amongst a sea of cool blogs.
and then - well, and then i panicked. my front page is full of friggen CHAIRS. so i’m putting together this post that summarizes the entire blog,...
Marion House Book guest post
Yay:

Also, I want to go here:
(can’t remember where I pinched it from. if you know, please tell!)
Getting there...
It’s not done, but I couldn’t wait to show how it’s coming along. The floors still need to be done, there is a giant ugly gaping hole in the ceiling, i need to throw a cabinet beside the fridge, the cabinets on top of the fridge need to be 36” instead of 30”s for when we get a new fridge and i need to paint….black?
before and after time!
ps we have a...
chair chat. see what i did there?
i forgot about west elm mostly because i think the quality is iffy at best. but i looked at their website last night and saw this ‘interpretation’ of the Borge Mogensen 2204 Wing Chair which I think would be really nice if the legs were painted white or gray or something?
(the original obvs).
Also saw this leather and nail-headded number which would be super kid-friendly and the...
I don't want to talk about it pt. 2
i’m having kind of a panic attack (not to be dramatic or anything) about how much WOOD is in the kitchen and i’m thinking that i should paint out the floors. wood walls, wood countertop. augughgh. maybe i should wait until the white doors are on the cabinets since they’re finishing the floors last, inexplicably. no pictures. only ranting.
update: staying the course
I don't want to talk about it
So instead I want to talk about this: this look. This frayed-edged, skinny-armed, slouchy look. It probably has a better name involving the words flea-market, farm house, modern, blah blah.
The last one, not so much - the other two? Oh hell yes. The first I saw today as I barged into One-Twenty Modern with a post-school crazy 6 year old, a kick-y baby and two bags of take out from the Golden...
The Good News...
Is that the floors look like they are going to be amazing. The bad news is that we’ve been out of the house for 6 days now and appx. 6 hrs of work has been done. Tomorrow they promise the framing and birch walls and cabinets are going in. I think I’ll be smart and anticipate 3/4 of those things happening tops. I don’t really get why they’re not sanding and sealing the floor...
the BIG BATHROOM REVEAL dun dun duuuun
here’s the post over at arrenwilliams.com!
And PS go vote for me: http://community.apartmenttherapy.com/contests/color/2010/entries/771 because I SAID SO
Never forget:
bad luck life
two things for today.
number one: craigslist karma. see, i sold that couch of mine as i mentioned in the last post, but it had some sun bleaching on the back and i didn’t exactly tell the guy who bought it about it, but i didn’t hide it and he didn’t notice it. so what, right? well, then i unwrap the table from the cellophane it was encased in from the seller’s move and...
PICK ONE
So, somehow I’ve ended up with two dining tables. Well, not yet - but by tonight, I will have two.
Table One was pulled from a barn in southern Ontario. It’s 8x3 BUT with the braces you can only really fit 6 chairs and in the room it’s going in (not the one pictured) you can’t fit end chairs. So it’s like a giant 4-person table. Also it looks a lot like a picnic...
